ABFA General Notice

  • June 8, 2012

The African Brothers Football Academy is a Proprietary Limited Company that was created and functions for public benefit. ABFA does not and will not distribute its “profits” to shareholders. Any money earned by ABFA is used for the purpose of providing sporting facilities to Schools and people regardless of their ability to pay.

The City of Cape Town has issued ABFA with a closure notice on the basis of it´s view that we are operating outside of the relevant consent use applicable to the Campus. As a result of this notice we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that we obtain the correct zoning permit, which will then allow us to function legally as a place of assembly and a place of instruction.

It has always been our mandate to create a benefit to the community by creating a safe space where children and adults can learn and play. It remains our objective to coach children who cannot afford the training fees.

In order to maintain the facilities and the day-to-day administration of ABFA, we encourage all patrons & supporters who make use of our fields to offer a donation, at their discretion.

We therefore are not a business in the strict sense of the word and the monies donated go directly towards the up-keep of the Academy and the provision of coaches and training as well as fees and transport for our children to play in the Tygerberg league.

On behalf of the staff and the coaches who remain committed to the Academy, we would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
